Nima

Nima is a Somalian girl (13), who has been living in a refugee centre for 5 years.  She came to the Netherlands due to the war in her country and hopes she can stay here for ever. Every day, she asks the janitor about the mail, hoping to receive the letter that will give both her and her mother a permanent residence. Meanwhile she is having fun with her Somali and Azerbaijani friends. She attends school, skates by the sea and realises that she lives in  a free country where women are allowed to study and don’t have to be circumcised. Then, the long awaited letter arrives…
