Anastazia is white… but her parents are black. Anastazia has albinism. She has lived in a shelter in Tanzania for almost her entire life because she is not safe at home. Many people in Africa believe that albinos possess magical powers and that the bones of albinos bring good luck. That is why children like Anastazia are hunted and even murdered. And that is why she does not live at home.
Anastazia has sweet friends, but she misses her parents very much and hopes that they will finally come to visit again.
The film has been nominated for the Prix de Jeunesse, the Rockie Award, and BANFF, and selected for submission to the Emmy Awards.
